The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2025 (“Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon”) will be held on the 9th of this month. The pre-race conference will host a large-scale marathon expo for the first time to kick off this year's event. The first "Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Expo" was held at the newly completed sports and large-scale event venue Kai Tak Sports Park, hoping to enhance the runners' experience and welcome the annual sporting event together with the general public. The organizers estimate that the four-day "Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Expo" ("Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Expo") will attract about 120,000 participants, making it the public event with the largest number of participants since the trial operation of Kai Tak Sports Park.
The four-day "Jack Horse Racing Expo" was held at the Kai Tak Sports and Arts Centre in the Kai Tak Sports Park from February 5 to 8. There were more than 40 stalls and more organizations and groups participated than in previous carnivals, making the atmosphere on site more lively. There are also different special check-in spots for ZHAMA in the "ZHAMA Expo". Whether it is the runners who come to collect the runner's bags, or the children and adults who visit the Expo, they can find fun in different games and activities and feel the joyful atmosphere of ZHAMA. There is also a cheering station inside the venue where the public can record words of encouragement to cheer the runners. The recordings will be broadcast at designated locations on the race track on race day, allowing the whole city to participate in this sporting event in different ways. Entering the Year of the Snake, participants can write down their wishes and pray for good luck in the new year, a smooth race or breaking their personal best (PB) on the wishing tree at the venue.
During the "Jia Ma Expo", Jia Ma participants can collect their runners' bags according to their appointment time. The "Runners' Wall" which has been very popular among runners in previous years will also be moved to the Kai Tak Sports and Arts Centre at the same time. The wall is printed with the names of 74,000 participants, which is full of commemorative value and is a great place for runners who are actively preparing for the race to check in. There is also a memorial wall at the venue, which reviews the evolution of the Macau Marathon since the first Macau Marathon in 1997, witnessing the development of the Macau Marathon from a local event to a "Gold Level Road Race" recognized by the World Athletics Federation, injecting positive energy into Hong Kong.
In order to further enhance the runners' experience, the Kai Tak Sports Park's first-ever Kai Tak Expo will invite experts from different fields to explain running and sports-related topics on site, including prevention, protection and care, providing a communication platform for runners to share experiences, enhance community cohesion, and establish a local running culture. In the future, the "Marathon Expo" will also plan to invite more international event-related organizations to provide the latest information to marathon enthusiasts, prepare for conquering the marathon grand slam in the future, and practice the concept of "Together, we run farther."
